WOYWW - So much to do, so little time to craft!

Good morning all you lovely WOYWWers and everybody else who comes to visit. Today is a public holiday in South Africa. We are celebrating Human Rights Day and I am off to a local shopping centre to help an organisation called STOP HUNGER NOW to pack some meals, actually I am going to support some of my girls who will be helping on behalf of our school's Charity and Ethos committee .
As you can see, my desk is looking half decent this week. That is because I did clean up after my last fiasco. You will see my newest Cricut cartridge - I am cutting cup cake wrappers like a mad woman (for my daughter who just can't keep up with all the orders she is getting)

I have been insanely busy at school, but I did do some retail therapy. I could not resist the new LaLa Land's Easter collection. They are SO cute. Bought all of them and had to start colouring (between marking essays and tests) I coloured Luka with my beloved Copics and cut him out. He is currently paper hopping and deciding which papers he likes best. I am leaning towards this stripy paper, what do you think?

I might not be able to join all of you next week, because I will be away on our annual Leadership Camp with the girls. If I have time before I leave on Tuesday morning I will try to schedule a post.

In the mean time, Cindy is doing better this week, but going for another chemo sesion next week. Please keep her in your prayers and then another frien of mine's husband had a 12hour operation yesterday to remove a brain tumour. Please keep Rob and Kathy in your prayers too.

Have a fantastic day and don't forget to visit Julia ovet at http://stamping=ground.blogspot.com to see what all the other amazingly talented WOYWWers are up to.

WOYWW - Still going crazy!

Good morning everybody, it is 5h30 in the morning over here and I am up and ready to go. I have already woken up DD at 5 with a cup of tea, made DH some tea and saw him off to work and taken photo's for WOYWW among other things. I am tired and the day hasn't even begun!
As you can see, the desk has just become progressively worse. Not even the push to the side method is helping any more, so I had to use the couch to find a place to work again.

I mean, the new Copic colours finally arrived, so I had to colour didn't I? I know, I know, its crazy busy at work, but all work and no play... you know what they say.

Made some cards from more of those coloured images I found when moving my craftroom around. This one is for my friend Cindy who is going through chemo and not feeling very well at the moment.

The papers are Bazzil and dp from my stash, lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The butterflies were essentualbecause I got an ink smudge on the image when I stamped the sentiment. (hate when that happens)

Another one of those coloured images, dp came free with a magazine. Ribbon and bling from my stash.

My favourite for the week. Another of those coloured images. This one is so old, she is still printed on normal printer paper! Glitterified her wings and the scroll with Stickles. The scroll and trim were cut with the new die cuts I bought at Hobby ex (I think from Nellie Snellen) Papers are from my stash.

Another oldie, papers are from my stash, so is the ribbon and bling. I am not very good at male cards, but my DH likes this one, so I suppose its OK-ish.

Have a great Wednesday everybody and please don't forget to pray for my friend Cindy who is having Chemo. She is not feeling well at all at the moment. Also please remember one of my girls, Nikita (16) who's father suddenly passed away from a heart attack on Saturday in your prayers.

I promise to be a better visitor in April when 'silly season' is over.

Remember to visit Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com for some fantastic inspiration.

WOYWW -- Don'u like this getting old thing one bit!

I said to myself: "Self, if you post this picture sudeways, maybe people will think its artistic!" So that is exactly what I did. Did it work or does it still look like a hot mess? For somebody who has no time to craft, I sure can accumulate a whole lot of 'mess' (I prefer to call it essential crafty bits. LOL)
I really had no time to craft, but... I did go to Hobby ex and bought some really awesome new goodies. A whole lot of new dies (I had to test them out - hence the mess), a few (2) new stamps, some paper and a few (100!?) flowers.
I also recieved my mini caed swap in the mail this week and I am blown away! Amazing to think that 25 people can make such amazing cards and they are all different! My favourite one was this one by Kim, well actually my favourite one changes every time I look at them, but this one is incredible! The card is only 3x3 inches and those flowers are 3D!!! How cool is that!?

Getting to the title of my post in a round about way today. Yesterday, while on the school run, I had the following conversation with my 5yo granddaughter:

'Ouma', she says. 'When I am big, I am going to teach at StDominic's'

"That's nice Tertia-Lee', I said, 'then you and I can work together'

The look she gave me was priceless! She then said: 'No ouma. whne you die, I'll get your classroom'

Nothing quite like a 5yo to give you a reality check is there?

That conversation on top of my last drs appointment, made me decide I do NOT like getting old. Went to the dr. with a mysterious, but very bad pain just under the ribs on my right side. Been having it for a year or so and it is really getting to the point where I can not function when it hits me. Dr. checks everything and declares me healthy! Now I wonder, what the hell is the pain? Could it be what we call 'iepiekonders' in Afrikaans? (An imaginary illness that happens to pathetic people) Or, is it just old age creeping up on me?
I don't know, but either way I DO NOT LIKE GETTING OLD!

Have a great week everybody and don't forget to visit Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ for more crafty and arty desks. Some are very neat.
